Keeper Of Hearts
Hi all
It’s been many moons since I blogged here or anywhere for that matter. This one’s called “Keeper of Hearts” which has a spicey Indian flavour. I hope you like it. Done with a synth that emulates World instruments, and I must say it is very very and very authentic in sound, but you be the judge of that…hehe.
The first sound you hear is the Tambura which is the instrument that all the other performers follow. Its player sits at the back and is rarely mic’ed up, and the audience cannot hear him, but the people onstage can, and they keep to whatever key he is in. Thats why he plays a chord at the start, to let everyone know what key they should be in.
The flute is called a Bansuri, I love its sound and being a fan of Deepak Ram I have to say the emulation of it in Garritan World Instruments is remarkable. “Flute For Thought” is a very cool album by Deepak.
The Sitar in the breakdown of this is a little variation of the main melody. Nice to have something different in there…hehe.
Another Indian instrument in this is a stringed instrument called the Sarangi, which accompanies the flute.
For the drums we have a programed tabla.
I also used Nexus 2 for the pads, as I thought it would be nice to have something contrasting to the traditional instruments.
Thanks for reading and listening.
